This review is about the new Tenth Anniversary Edition of the album, not just a re-hash review of the original TOTBL album released back in 2002.Got this album off Amazon and am very pleased with it so far. The album contains 2 CDs and a DVD..... 1st CD is the original TOTBL album, completely re-mastered. It sounds incredible! 2nd CD is a disc of various demo takes of several songs, previously unreleased songs, etc. My favorites off this one, besides Specialist (which appears to be the same one from the 2002 EP), are Interlude and Get The Girls/Song 5, and also Precipitate. The DVD contains either full concerts or snippets of songs from 2 different concerts. First concert from 2000 is with (still current) drummer Sam Fogarino in NYC. It is significant because it was Sam's FIRST show with the band, performed only a month after joining. The second concert is from 2002 at the Troubadour in L.A. The DVD also includes music videos for NYC, PDA, and Obstacle 1.Update on DVD (12/21/12): Just watched the DVD. Some great stuff! 1st show from 2000 is pretty good. Liked hearing Song 5 live, and Precipitate. 2nd show from 2002 is even better. One mistake they made though in labeling was that they put down Precipitate for this show, when actually it's Specialist. Which is fine with me as Precipitate is again played in the 2000 show. The 3 videos for NYC, PDA, and Obstacle 1, are all cool. Only thing I didn't like was that for PDA, they cut out the outro (arguably the best part). Oh well. This album (referring to 1st disc) is nothing short of spectacular. Pretty much every song on here is a gem, and even my least favorite one or two are still pretty good. Interpol in my opinion is the BEST band still around that started within the last 10-15 years. That may just be why they got to open for the biggest touring band around of the last couple years, U2. TOTBL is definitely my favorite Interpol release, and this special anniversary edition serves as a fitting tribute to a classic album! This edition comes in some pretty nice "hard cover" binding (very smooth to the touch). It includes 48 pages of unpublished photos from 2000-2003, with liner notes by the band. Definitely a MUST for any fan! Do yourself a favor, and buy this great new release.
