I initially wrote an unfavorable review of these lights (see below). However, after my review posted, I did a little digging on the Q/A and reviews for these lights. I decided to try a reset and reconnect to my router. It worked ... at least, it has been working now for 24 hours.I THINK (!) my problem was user error, not device failure. I had moved my router in the house, and I replaced a 2.4 GHz extended. I think the lights may disconnected at this point. I cannot explain why they would randomly turn on during the day (with no schedule set) or blink erratically. Maybe this is a "feature" that tells you you're no longer connected to the router, but it seemed to random for that.In any event, I'm 24 hours into a reset and reconnect, and it seems to be working. I paired my lights with Alexa, and all seems to be well. You can read my original, negative review below just for kicks. But ignore it ... except for the part about the company not replying to my original message through Amazon. (They still haven't.)***Failed after 3 months and began blinking randomly. Strung these lights along a back fence. They worked well for 3 months. Set them up on a schedule, and paired them with Alexa. Then they began turning on randomly and blinking erratically like a disco ball. I reached out to the company for help through Amazon but received no reply.I think I lost about 60 dollars on these lights. I assume you are reading this review because you're thinking about making the same purchase. Here's how to determine whether you should: On your commute to work, roll down your window and throw three 20 dollar bills out the window. If it makes you feel good, these are the lights for you.We put the string lights on the ceiling of one side of our deck and realized they were too close together so the light was too bright. They are dimmable, but only to a certain point. We took them down and spread them along the rail of our deck and are very pleased with the result. We needed an extension to keep the controller as dry as possible and contacted XMCosy. They were very prompt in responding and sent us a 10 foot extender at no charge. It came quicky and made it possible to hide wires and the controller under our deck. The string lights are heavy duty and seem well made. It was easy to set up the app. We are very pleased with the product and the service. This is the second XMCosy light I've bought, the other, being the round LED light floor lamp. They all have worked flawlessly. They have a good knack for staying connected and configured to the network even when I have to reset my router. These lights came with an extra bulb which is really nice. I wasn't too fond of the packaging on the bulbs, but all of them arrived in good condition. One of the things that bothers me the most with smart lights is the connecting and configuration process. These work and connect the first time. I had no issues setting it up. For reference, I have a Google Pixel 6 Pro. I would definitely recommend these lights to anyone.I have one glass bulb LED light set of bistro light strings strung across a patio, but now added the XMCOSY plastic bulb LED set around a smaller outdoor space. I was very surprised that the plastic bulbs looked just as clear and as bright as the other set. I've broken two or three bulbs over the years on the glass set. However, i was able to drag the XMCOSY plastic bulbs across the pebble and stone patio to figure out the best line for installation without any breaks or scratches. The software was ok, but since this was connected to as smart switch, my Apple Homekit automations were able to control the on and off. Once on, I used TUYA and Homebridge to control dimming and flashing. I use a second support wire to hang all my string lights so as to not put stress on the power cords. It also allows me to unhook the wires and strings before high wind events. Very happy with this purchase. I'll try to post a photo at night. Super beautiful.Used to wrap around pool enclosure. Offers great mood lighting or just crank up and light up everything, even down in the pool. 4 months now and scheduling of lights are just one more thing to not worry about. Lights come on at time I set for dusk and off at midnight. We walk dogs multiple times at night and this is just convenient. Solid cabling and lights are well protect, I don't foresee any issues due to quality being high.UPDATE- after this review i was quickly contacted and a new string was sent out to replace the faulty one. EXCELLENT communication and service!Bought three strands to go over our pool and one strand blinks off and on and won’t stay connected to the Wi-Fi. It lost certainly isn’t our Wi-Fi because not only do the others remain on but so does everything over a 2 acre span. Took me forever to make this decision and I did because of the reviews, I do see now that my return window was only 30 days from purchase :(The lights are just the right brightness and are easy to install. I was pleasantly surprised at how the veranda quickly became a happy place! When I first plugged them in, I was worried because they blink for a couple of minutes, but all is well, and we love them.I installed the lights on our patio about 11 months ago and they worked very well in providing very nice lighting for the entire area. I really like the ability to control the lights with the XMCOSY+ app and to be able to easily set up a schedule for automatically turning the lights on and off. After daily use (about four hours per night) for 11 months the adapter for the lights stopped working. XMCOSY Customer Support suggested that the fuse may have blown causing the adapter to fail. I checked and the fuse had blown but replacing the fuse did not correct the problem. Since XMCOSY provides a 12-month warranty they sent me a replacement adapter and the lights are now working again. I am very pleased with this product and with their Customer Support.
